Children’s Church Meets Weekly at 10:00AM on Sunday

Children’s ministry is essential to welcoming children to the church. It lets them hear the ancient stories in words that are familiar to them, and makes lessons concrete in games and crafts. It provides a foundation for their faith and relationship with God. It helps them feel truly a part of the family of God.

St. Mark’s Children’s Church meets every Sunday in the Children’s Corner of the Fellowship Hall. It starts at the same time as the Worship Service. The children and their teachers later join the congregation in the main sanctuary for Holy Eucharist.

Our Children’s Church needs more volunteers for the program to continue and grow. You can be as active as you like with planning or presenting, or you can just sip coffee and watch to help keep the children safe. All talents and personalities are welcome, and you have no idea the impact you can have. Please reach out to me with any questions or to get started. Thank you, Lyssa Nickle-Madden

St. Mark’s Sunday Worship Service Time is Changing

Starting November 3, 2024 our service will start at 11:30AM EST (an hour and a half later than during September & October). Services will continue to start at 11:30AM throughout November and December. In January and February 2025, our service will return to a 9:00AM start. All services will be available in-person and via Zoom. Coffee hour will follow the service.

Why the change? Bishop Ketlen has asked our Priest-in-Charge, The Reverend Nancy Threadgill to provide Sunday Holy Eucharist for both St. Mark’s and our sister parish St. Francis-in-the-Fields, Somerset. Both parishes surveyed their parishioners last autumn to see what service times they preferred. Both parishes selected these two times. We are testing the waters to see how this schedule works for both parishes in preparation for our sharing a full-time Priest-in-Charge in the near future.

We will continue to offer Holy Eucharist Rite II most Sundays. On the fourth Sunday of each month we offer Holy Eucharist Rite I. If our Priest is unavailable, we offer Morning Prayer. Masks are optional. All are welcome. The worship service bulletin will be available under Worship.

To join us via Zoom, please contact The Reverend Nancy Threadgill at revnancy-stmarks@atlanticbbn.net or (814) 535-6797 in advance of the service to obtain the login information.
