Children’s Church Sundays at 10:00AM
Children’s ministry is essential to welcoming children to the church. It lets them hear the ancient stories in words that are familiar to them and makes lessons concrete in games and crafts. It provides a foundation for their faith and relationship with God. It helps them feel truly a part of the family of God.
St. Mark’s Children’s Church meets every Sunday in the Children’s Corner of the Fellowship Hall. It starts at the same time as the Worship Service. The children and their teachers later join the congregation in the main sanctuary for Holy Eucharist.

St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry Needs Your Help

St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry has been assisting many families in Johnstown and the surrounding areas with free pet food monthly for over 15 years. We assist approximately 100 families each month and give out over 1,500 lbs. of pet food.
Our main goal is to continue to help families keep their beloved pets. We have been able to do this over the years from our yearly call out for donations. We only do this once a year around Thanksgiving time. We are blessed that faithful folks from near and far enable us to continue to help.
Our town has been fortunate in the past few years that other agencies have opened their doors to help, but we still find it difficult to help the new folks who arrive at the church needing help in emergencies as other agencies can only help once a month.
And so as usual when the cold weather arrives, we find our supplies dwindling. We are running short of pet food supplies. So, we are asking for help.
Please think of St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry in this season of giving. Monetary donations and supplies of dog and cat food are most welcome. Cat food is especially needed this time of year as the many, many people who Trap, Neuter, and Release feed so many feral cats. They look to St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry for help.
Pet food and monetary donations can be dropped off or sent to St. Mark’s Church Office, 335 Locust Street, downtown Johnstown, Monday-Thursday 10:00AM-3:00PM. Monetary donations also can be made via Donate on our website.

Thank you! God Bless to all who help keep the pantry open!

Annual Christmas Stocking Stuffer Project
Each year for several decades, we have joined with other religious groups to provide stuffed stockings for the 335 patients of Torrance State Hospital. The stockings/gift bags are stuffed with toiletries (no pumps or cans), ankle or crew socks, card games, activity books, coloring books, blank greeting cards, packs of cookies, crackers, or snack cakes, small bags of chips, Doritos, or cheese curls, non-refrigerated pudding, apple sauce or fruit cups, and soft candies. For the safety of the patients, no nuts, hard candy, gum, staples, wire, or long strings are allowed. If you would like to donate, please hand-deliver or ship your donated items to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 335 Locust Street, Johnstown PA 15901 on or before Sunday November 22.
Holiday Food for Families
During the Month of November, Pastoral Care will provide families who request assistance with the food items necessary for a holiday meal. If you know a family who might benefit, please share that information with Joanne, a member of the ECW. Beginning November 10th, we will accept donations of turkeys and turkey breasts, hams and also non-perishables in order to assemble boxes for at least 5-6 families. Any non-perishable items are much appreciated and may be placed on the food pantry shelves at any time.
