Worship Ministries

Worship is the center of our life at St. Mark’s. Services of Holy Eucharist are held on Wednesdays at noon, Saturday evening, and twice on Sunday.  The 10:00 AM Sunday service incorporates both choral and pipe organ music. We hold special services throughout the liturgical year in Advent, on Christmas Eve, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost and All Saints, to name a few. We also hold Community Common Prayer services in the evening on the third Sunday of each month. Many volunteers contribute their time and talents to the preparation and carrying out of these services.

Altar Guild

Members of the Altar Guild prepare and tend the places of worship on a rotating schedule. Their work goes on quietly behind the scenes. The Altar Guild has a special role as the Priest’s liturgical partner in making the worship of the parish run smoothly.

Lay Readers

Our lay readers serve Christ by reading aloud passages from the Hebrew Scriptures, Psalms, and New Testament during worship services.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM)

LEM volunteers have received special training and are licensed to assist the priest during the worship services as chalice bearers, leading the Prayers of the People and as acolytes. They also are licensed to lead Morning and Evening Prayer, Vespers, and Compline services in the absence of the Priest.
