Happy New Year 2025!

Starting January 5, 2025 our service will start at 9:00AM EST.  Services will continue to start at 9:00AM throughout January, February and March 2025. Our service will return to an 11:30AM start in April. All services will be available in-person and via Zoom. Coffee hour will follow the service.

Why the change? Bishop Ketlen has asked our Priest-in-Charge, The Reverend Nancy Threadgill to provide Sunday Holy Eucharist for both St. Mark’s and our sister parish St. Francis-in-the-Fields, Somerset. Both parishes surveyed their parishioners last autumn to see what service times they preferred. Both parishes selected these two times. We are testing the waters to see how this schedule works for both parishes in preparation for our sharing a full-time Priest-in-Charge in the near future.

St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry Needs Donations

Thanksgiving will be here again in a few weeks and here at St. Mark’s Pet Pantry we are hoping the good and faithful folks that always come through for us and allow us to stay open, will once again make this happen.

It’s been a busy expensive year but we have managed to help all who come each month. It varies between 140 to 150 families each month.

In October we helped to feed 196 dogs, 34 puppies and 610 cats, 114 kittens, not to mention the food we give extra to people to feed the feral cats, over a 1/3 of the cats total are feral.

Total amounts for the year to date from January are dry food 9,234lbs for dogs and 12,762lbs for cats.

We are grateful for any donations and any money donations sent direct to church. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church,335 Locust Street, Johnstown PA 15901 (814) 535-6797 Donations of food can be sent by Chewy or dropped at church Tues to Friday 10am to 3pm.

Pet Food dates. Nov 6th and 7th, 2024, Dec 4th and 5th at church.

Thanking you all once again for past help.

Blessings,

Cynthia Greig, St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry Coordinator

Fall Clean Up Sunday, September 15 Following the 9:00 AM Service (Rain date on Saturday September 28)

Bishop Ketlen will be here Sunday, October 6th. We want the church to look nice for her visit. Over the summer the weeds have cropped up and the plants have grown like crazy. The courtyard and garden beds in front and on the side of the church are in much need to pruning and trimming. We’ll gather after the 9 AM service to get started on the clean-up. If we need more time, we set aside Saturday, September 28 as the rain date. Wear your work clothes to church. Bring your favorite yard tools: gloves, rakes, and small garden tools. We will supply bags and boxes for the weeds and other trimmings. If everyone can do a little, we can get it done.
